THE ROCKLEDGE HERITAGE FOUNDATION
|
The Plaza Hotel in 1896.

|
The Rockledge Heritage Foundation was established by the City of Rockledge as a not-for-profit corporation to provide for the preservation of historical assets of significance to Rockledge and to further and promote the preservation of Rockledge's heritage and history.
The RHF's mission is to preserve, protect, and promote Rockledge, Florida's, history through active preservation, education, awareness and public involvement.
Our first major project is to restore the Rockledge Municipal Building, built in 1926, so that visitors can experience town life in that era. Designed by architect Richard Rummell in the Mediterranean Revival style, it housed the fire department, the police station and jail, a library, and the city government.
Some of our future projects include purchasing markers to designate Rockledge's historic districts and homes, creating a walking tour of Old Rockledge, and more...
